History

The Grappone family has a long tradition of treating their customers, community and team members right. To this day Grappone is family owned and operated.

The Grappone Family history began in 1924, when Rocco Grappone, and his wife Emmanuella bought a Gulf service and gas station in Concord, NH. The station was bought to supplement the family income from Rocco’s job at a local quarry. By 1929, Grappone began offering and servicing Pontiac automobiles.

By 1939, Rocco added Desoto and Plymouth franchises to his growing business built on customer service.

As World War II increased, so did the demand for rubber, Rocco saw an opportunity and established a tire retread business in 1941.

In 1944 John Deere joined the growing Grappone family.

Rocco turns the business over to his son, John, who expands the Pontiac franchise. The Grappones add the AMC/Jeep and Ford franchises.

Allen and Bob join their father, John in the business. From 1968 to 1974, Grappone expands to acquire Toyota, Subaru, Mazda and Honda.

In 1982, The Grappone Companies begin offering Ford heavy trucks.

In 1989, The Grappone Companies adds Suzuki. Allen and Bob take control of the family business in 1990, and add Saturn in 1991. Grappone operations begin in Vermont. The Saturn dealership expands to Nashua.
