Happy October! Everyone has been working so hard this past week and a half voting for their charity and spreading the word. For the extreme dedication and passion we have seen this round we are going to do something we haven’t done yet this year; we are going to give you the ranking of every charity in contest!
Don’t forget, a lot of these charities are fighting for the same cause. We know this money can help all of the charities but regardless of the outcome remember that the money will help.
We aren’t doing this to discourage any charity, in fact we want you to know if your hard work has paid off and if it hasn’t don’t give up yet. Continue promoting your cause and participate in the mini contests we are holding this week. If you are in the lead continue doing what you are already doing. Each and every charity does so much good and we want everyone to know what amazing charities and people exist in New Hampshire.

This week we will feature a different contest every day to help give charities in the Grappone Cares contest a chance to earn extra votes.
Each contest will take place on one of our Facebook pages.
On Tuesday 10/1 we will have a contest on Grappone Toyota’s Facebook: The two winners for this contest are Samantha Currier and Jessica Bryant, they can each give 25 votes to a charity of their choice!
On Wednesday 10/2 we will have a contest on Grappone Ford’s Facebook
On Thursday 10/3 we will have a contest on Grappone Honda’s Facebook
We will also host a RT to Win contest on Twitter so make sure you are following us to see the tweet!
On Friday 10/4 we will have a contest on Grappone Hyundai’s Facebook
If you answer the questions correctly by the deadline (which will be stated in the post) your name will be entered into a drawing. A random winner will be chosen and given the opportunity to donate extra votes to a charity of their choice in the Grappone Cares contest
Hint: If you like each of these pages you will be able to follow the contests and be one of the first to know about them.
We wish you all luck. And keep your eyes open for surprise contests throughout.
Grappone has partnered up with the Mount Washington Cog Railway. We are giving you a chance to win 4 tickets on the cog (a $250+ value) and a lunch at Catalano’s at The Cog Restaurant!
The Cog takes you to the top of Mount Washington, the highest peak in the Northeast which provides a view like no other!
Winning these tickets will provide you and your family with an unforgettable vacation. The tickets are valid until 1/1/15.
All you have to do is a submit a photo of your family on vacation and tell us why you want to win. Then get your friends and family to vote on your photo. The photo with the most votes by 9/2 will win!
If your photo visually incorporates the word COG you will obtain an extra 15 votes automatically. You can be creative with this, whether you spell COG like the YMCA song (using your arms) or draw it in the sand when you are at the beach, the options are endless!
Congratulations to the winner of this contest: Hollee Sampson Wells who received 188 votes!
*This contest has ended*
Recap of the contest:
- It lasted for 3 weeks; 1 week for nominations and 2 weeks for voting.
- There were 63 charities nominated, 43 of them were automatically re-entered from the first 2 rounds.
- We gave every charity to earn at least 150 extra votes during a video bonus round.
- Eight videos were submitted to the video bonus round.
At the end of the contest the Top 5 charities were:
5) Cocheco Arts and Technology Academy
4) Court Appointed Special Advocates of NH
3) Upper Valley Humane Society
2) For the Love of Dog
1) The Spartan Junior Drum and Bugle Corp
Throughout the final days of the voting round we highlighted as many charities as we could on all of our Facebook pages. Grappone Cares is more than just giving away $5,000. It is about giving all New Hampshire charities, large and small, a platform to promote their cause and inform as many people as possible about what they do.
The winner of the contest, The Spartans, are currently finishing up their major tour for the summer season and competing in the World Championship in Michigan City, IN. We will travel to their main office in Nashua to present them with their $5,000 check sometime next week. We will update the article at that time and share our experience with you!
**The final round of Grappone Cares will be held in September. ALL CHARITIES MUST BE RE-NOMINATED! **
Tips to help you succeed: Start planning to help promote your cause by creating fun graphics and videos. Spread the word to everyone you know about the contest. Build a strong Facebook Fan base – since Facebook is where the contest is hosted.
During the third round of Grappone Cares we are going to give every charity a chance to earn extra votes as well as bring more awareness to their charity.
You will have 5 days to submit a video and get as many people to vote on it during those 5 days.
There are 5 questions we suggest you answer. You must choose at least two to address in your video.
1. What is the main purpose of your charity?
2. How many people are involved in your charity; volunteers/employees/etc.?
3. When and how did your charity get started?
4. What will your charity do with the $5,000 if you win?
5. How did you hear about Grappone Cares?
Every charity that submits a video (1 per charity) will receive an extra 150 votes towards their Grappone Cares entry. The video with the most votes will receive 300 votes. We, at Grappone, will choose one video to also receive 300 votes. We will make our decision based on the questions answered, creativity, and quality of the video. Make sure you have fun with it!
You can share these videos on your website and provide the link to the video contest page! You can also share the video on Grappone’s Facebook Page and Twitter. This is a great way to shine a light on your charity and spread the word!
The contest begins 8 a.m. Friday July 26th and ends 4 p.m. Tuesday July 30th.
*Don’t forget to remind people to also vote for your charity in Grappone Cares during this time as well.*
If you have any questions please email Danielle, [email protected]
Sullivan County Humane Society was announced as the winner of the Grappone Cares June contest. They came in second place during the 1st round of Grappone Cares in May. There persistence in trying to obtain votes paid off, it paid $5,000 to be exact.
Sullivan County Humane Society is located in Claremont, NH and is a fairly new Feline Shelter. Grappone team members will be taking the hour drive down to Sullivan County to present them with their $5,000 on July 19th! We will get to tour the facility and see all of the cats and kittens that they help save and put into loving homes.
Visiting Sullivan County Humane Society was wonderful. We were able to see their facility and all of the cats and kittens that need a home. While staying at Sullivan County the felines are kept in very large clean cages with multiple layers, toys, and beds. The volunteers that make it all possible greeted us as we walked through the door with a big round of applause. Donating the money was an honor for us, it is the volunteers that deserve the round of applause. They donate their time and energy to helping the animals!
Nominations for Grappone Cares July will be accepted from July 16th – July 19th. All charities that were nominated in the first and second round will automatically be entered into the third round. Voting will take place July 23rd until August 2. If you know a great New Hampshire charity that deserves and needs $5,000 nominate them on our Facebook Page.
Watch our video of when we announced the winner:
On May 3oth Live and Let Live Farm was presented with their $5,000 check! Teresa Paradis, the director at the farm, accepted the check on behalf of all the animals. The money will help with day to day expenses including vet bills and food. With the help from donations Teresa is able to continue to rescue and rehabilitate horses, goats, pigs, chickens, pregnant dogs, kittens and any other animal that needs help.
